THE FIRST PLANTATION

ARCADIA is the idyllic place of Greek Mithology where Publio Virgilio Maron will be inspired to achieve his insurmountable great works of universal size and painted masterfully by  Friederich August von Kaulbach.

Dear global citizens friends in other time to be old was to be 50 years old; today the expectations of life for humans in general terms reach 70 or more and it was common in the recent past to hang them around in a chair and today in front the TV.

But not all olders adults resign and claime their place in society as young people are also doing it; but to large extent, it is up to us to earn it.

Personally I have devised how to continue active and serve society producing good organic vegetables as gardener, good thoughts and good feelings as writer that I will put to your consideration from ARCADIA the site from I sending you this collections of photos.

This is the front of the greenhouse that has on the left side its name Arcadia and the concept of Boutique Farm.

This is a front perspective from the out side. On the right side you can read the part of a text from my dear father: Así como en el Génesis al contacto de su mano cobra vida vierte en la del sembrador ennoblecida su sustento. A.R.N.

This is a perpective from the door. In the background you can see to the right side on the shelf of the seedlings a heather to help raise the tempeture in winter and behind him on the wall the painting of Arcadia as imagined Friederich August von Kaulbach and on the left side of the painting little bit up the thermother that marks the internal and external temperature.

This is a perspective from the back. The box out side the door contains quicklime to disinfect the shoes of those who enter. In the post near the bleu watering can see the first experimental tomato with only two green tomatoes are still.

This is the water affairs departement. lol.

The total area of 12 meters is divided into quadrants of 1 meter where the plants are of weeks of birth.

There are lettuce, beets, round ad long pumpkins, cilantro, peregil, tomatoes of 4 varieties, broccoli, califlower, radish arugula and chadder potato that have eate the little bugs that they olso have to eat.

Here you can see pumpkins and one pineapple whose fruit I will to enjoy in within a year. lol.

More lettuce, cilantro and tomatoes. I cannot help but notice that the bottles in the center of each square meter are the endowers of root water at 20 cm. depth which is where the plants require the nutrients diluted in the water.

These are the seedbeds in egg cases where the plants will be born and then trasplanted to their final place.

Here you can see the small corn plants that I will put outside in other place.

This is the administrative, technical and writer's departament Lol You can see a fan to help in summer times. You can see also the environmental music nature sounds horn and the timer to control the fan or heather during peak hours.

With the heater on when December 15, 2018 at 5:34 a.m. the outside temperature reached 0 ° C inside the greenhouse the thermometer read 5.9 ° C and when at 7:42 am. outside it marked -1.1 ° C, inside the greenhouse it marked 5.2 ° C
That is fantastic!

This little gadget is a high frequency emitter of sounds to scare the insects up to the size of a mouse.

It has LED lighting that helps plants grow healthy. Of the 34 screws that have the structure in the foundations or any other element of the construccion, they were not placed by other hands that were not mine.

While building the greehouse, this precious watermelons were produced.

For intruders has a motion detector whose alarm is like the sound of a police patrol. lol

Thank you very much, I hope you liked it.

See you next.

What you will see below is only possible by cultivating indoors under greenhouse conditions which allows to plant and harvest at any time of the year in a continuous manner.

PRUNING AND CARING.
January 7/19.

Pumpkin plants have been pruned of the leaves at the base of the stem to help focus their energies on the flowering process.

Pruning should be done with extreme care to avoid damaging the flowers or fruits.

The tendrils can be routed so that they are fastened to the tutor and the plants have better support for the fruits they will produce.

When sowing directly in the place where the plant in question is, the individual capelos or greenhouses constitute the difference between having healthy plants or not, protected from insects in a special microclimate.

Out of 11 baby lettuces, 82 grams of leaves and 98 grams of the last fruits produced by the experimental tomato for today's salad were harvested.

BUTTONS AND FLOWERING.

January 8/19.

The first pumpkin flower made its open appearance

 surrounded by buttons.

Here you can see the number of buttons of male and female

flowers that we can identify larger which are some and

which others.

This is another plant with many flower buttons.

This moderately pruned plant that was obtained by esqueje or chupón of the experimental tomato presents its first flowers.

This other plant, also pruned under the same moderate criterion, is the sister of the previous one obtained from a chupón that began to root and then be planted in the place it already occupies with fruits and flowers.

These are 89 grams of lettuce leaves that were harvested a few minutes ago for today's salad.

See you next...

AROMATIC HERBS.
January 10/19.

The so-called herbs of smell besides being very useful in the kitchen to give good flavor and seasoning to our food, they are medicinal and play a very important role in the garden of the gardener because their aromas drive away the unwanted insects and there are many intensities like the Rue that gives off a very strong aroma when you feel it touched or alight on it.

For these purposes we have planted 6 specimens of odorous herbs at the foot of each alley post as illustrated in the photos below.

Basil: medicinal and aromatic, antispasmodic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, stimulant and sedative properties.

Mint: medicinal and aromatic, with digestive action, aperitive, expectorant, anti-flu, antirheumatic, antibacterial and decongestant of the respiratory tract

Peppermint: with relaxing and medicinal powers to soothe headaches and stomach, digestive, combat bad breath.

Oregano: medicinal and aromatic, digestive, antidiabetic, vermifuge, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, estrogenic, tonic, antioxidant and expectorant. Repels ants.

Thyme: medicinal and aromatic, antibacterial, antiviral, expectorant, anti-inflammatory, digestive, antioxidant and diuretic properties.

Rosemary: medicinal and aromatic properties, antioxidant, antibacterial, reduces stress and improves mental performance.

PLANTS THINK?

For the skeptics, I show the stems of 4 squash plants that have leaned for support in the tutors that for this purpose were placed next to each plant. You can see the distance that they had to lean from the base to find the vertical of the tutor.

The learning of nature does not end...

MALE AND FEMALE FLOWERS.
Pumpk
January 17/19.

We had said that we would identify the flowers by their sex and in the following pictures we can appreciate that the male flowers have the characteristic design of their function to have the stem longer and be in a higher position with respect to the female flowers that are further down they are attached to the stem so that in this way they can deposit their male gametes or pollen in the breast of the flower.

on January 22, 2019.

January 23/19, 9:18 a.m.

January 23/19, 12:49 p.m.
The temperature will continue
increasing and to keep our ideal climate inside
it will be necessary to take some precautions.

January 24/19. Temperatures remain low in the morning as can be seen in the indicators that mark 6.1 ° C inside the greenhouse and 5.1 ° C outside at 8:26 a.m.

January 26, 2019. In the previous sequence of photos can be seen as in the first image at 12:42 p.m. the thermometer inside the greenhouse shows 29.8 ° C and how with the fan turned on it was possible to lower the temperature one degree or 28.8 ° C at 13:09 Hrs. that will not be enough when temperatures continue to rise for the subsequent months so we will have to open 4 windows to dislodge the heat and maintain our temperature at around 25 ° C without resorting to the fan that, although it was powered by photocells, the Engine noise is annoying I also understand for plants.

February 3/19 .- Well, dear friends, as the thermometer warned us last days with 28.6 ° C upwards, as we had planned with our materials and work tools we had to open 4 windows with mosquito net to the greenhouse, 2 to the front and 2 in the back with the idea of reducing the temperature of 27.3 ° C helped with the fan and yes, we succeeded in keeping the temperature stable at 26.6 ° C down otherwise without the windows the temperature would have been gone up to 30 ° C or more

February 5/19.- The Technical Board of Arcadia Granja Boutique has decided on the green carpet rather than the red carpet.
